Competition hots up in the Global Business Challenge

The search for tomorrow’s business leaders in the 2011 CIMA Global Business Challenge (GBC) has created intense competition between 2,135 teams from 17 countries across the globe.

The business management competition, supported by Barclays, is designed to bring out the best in the young business leaders of tomorrow. The GBC, now in its third year, is a great opportunity for students to gain practical business experience that will enhance their development.

It’s also a great way for undergraduates to meet some of the world’s top employers, who are sponsoring or judging the competition.

The national champions from Australia, Bangladesh, mainland China, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Malaysia, the Middle East, Pakistan, the Philippines, Russia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka and the UK will compete at the global final in Chengdu, China, at the end of July.

Chengdu, capital of the Sichuan province, is one of the most important economic centres in western China.

CIMA has launched a Facebook page for the GBC which allows students to share pictures, upload videos and get involved in discussions. Check it out at
